Book Cover.

Many things have happened over the past twelve months, which have given us cause for rejoicing. It is amazing how God has opened doors for us.

This book is a unique combination - a former alcoholic and criminal, a retired Senior Legal Adviser to a Magistrates' Court and Almighty God. The two Johns have known each other for over thirty years, having met in court on numerous occasions. Once upon a time they were 'enemies' in the sense that one administered the law and the other fell foul of it, and, when their paths crossed, usually got punished. They are now great friends as a result of a life changing experience. They led completely different lives, one a Christian from his youth and a Court Official, the other, an alcoholic spending a large proportion of his time in prison or hospital, but at one point their paths converged and the One who changed both their lives made all the difference.

The book is commended by Dr John Blanchard; Dr Sam Gordon; Canon Noel Proctor; Dr Bob Stewart; Pastor Ray Tate and published by Ambassador Productions Ltd, Belfast.

We believe that this book is very timely and we have written it out of a love for people. One of us has 'been there, done that, got the T-shirt', the other has seen what alcohol does to those in its grip.

If you wish to purchase a copy please contact John Hayes.

We are seeking to follow the words of Jesus - Matthew 25v36,40 ".... I was in prison and you came to me; when?  ....The King will answer ....assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did to one of the least of my brethren, you did it to Me."

Not only have we had the privilege of donating books, we have also, on invitation, visited prisons throughout the UK to speak with the prisoners to tell them of the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. We have bookings for HMP's Greenock and Featherstone (Wolverhampton) in 2009. Usk (postponed until 2010).

We have also visited churches to tell our stories.

If you would like us to come to your church or organisation please contact us.

               Reaching Prisoners for Christ.

It is our desire to make this book available free of charge to Chaplains and other workers to distribute to anyone, prisoners, addicts etc. Our diverse experiences have led us in our desire to help others who are in bondage to similar and other addictions.

John Cartledge spent many years trying to rid himself of his addiction to alcohol. His life was in ruins until he was brought face to face with the reality from God's Word, the Bible, that alcoholism was not an illness, but sin. Upon his confession of sin, repentance and faith in Jesus Christ he was cleansed, forgiven and set free.

We are inviting you to become part of this ministry by sponsoring books at £4 each so that we can place them free of charge in the hands of those who need them.

A reprint of the book has now been purchased and delivered to us to meet the demand, so we need your help.

So far we have donated over 1900 books to the following locations (we could donate a lot more, many requests are coming in, but we need your help) -  HMP's Altcourse(Fazakerley) (19), Garth (Leyland) * (19), Forest Bank (Pendlebury) * (22), Strangeways (Manchester) (100), Hindley (50), Risley (11),  Walton (Liverpool) * (44), Wymott (Leyland) (16), Thorn Cross (Appleton), * (13), Kennet (Maghull) (13), Wakefield (50), Buckley Hall (Rochdale) (20), Polmont (Scotland) (10), Long Lartin (Worcs)* (13), Haverigg (Cumbria) * (29), Drake Hall (Staffs) (20), Kilmarnock (see below) Belmarsh (London) (12), Dartmoor (40), Wolds (Yorkshire) (10), Winson Green (Birmingham) (20), Lindholme (Doncaster) (2), Preston (1), Dovegate (Staffs) (20), Bedford (21), Durham (10), Lancaster* (33), Everthorpe (Yorks) (10), Parkhurst (IOW) (25), Brockhill (Worcs) (4), Parc (Bridgend) * (40), Dorchester (30), Magilligan (NI) (24), Werrington YOI (Stoke) (12), Brixton* (31), Woodhill (30), Shrewsbury (16), Featherstone (10), Stafford (20), Wellingborough (6), Wormwood Scrubs (50), Highpoint (12), Leyhill (Worcs) (10), Styal (Wilmslow) (10), Doncaster* (21), Swaleside (Kent) (10), Full Sutton (York) (10), Feltham (10), Stocken (1), Canterbury (6), Kirklevington (1), Ranby (10), Grendon & Spring Hill (24), Perth (3), Wayland (Norfolk)* (13), Frankland (Durham)* (28), Downview (Surrey) (10), Onley & Rye Hill (12), Blakenhurst (Worcs) (10), Peterborough (21), Channings Wood (Devon) (10), Winchester* (42), Hull* (36), Bristol (6), Gartree* (18), Shepton Mallet (5), Gloucester (20), Whitemoor (Cambs) (6), Wealstun* (Yorks) (13), The Verne (Dorset) (20), Edinburgh (1), Erlestoke* (Wilts) (20), Chelmsford (12), The Mount (Herts)* (26), Aberdeen (4), Peterhead (7), Acklington (1), Barlinnie (10), Bullingdon (Oxon) (10), Cornton Vale & Glenochil (Falkirk) (24), Kirkham (20), Nottingham (20), Lowdham Grange (Notts) (5), Greenock (44), Lewes (20), Shotts (20), Kingston (Portsmouth) (10), Maidstone (20), Usk (20), Moorland Open and Closed (Donc) (40),Pentonville (20), Norwich (2), Coldingley (1),Exeter (1),Swansea (10), Elmley (Kent) (10),
